KACST and MIT are working together to make the most of our world’s interconnected systems. Rapid advances in digital technologies give engineers and policymakers countless new possibilities to collaborate and build more livable, sustainable habitats while preserving our limited natural resources.
At CCES, we use multi-disciplinary approaches to investigate problems caused by the expanding overlap in systems and the potential for new technologies to optimize their connectedness. Our researchers use data science and systems engineering approaches to create interactive tools and intuitive visualizations to clarify these concepts, permitting better decision making and outcomes. Through a series of coordinated research projects in a wide array of social and scientific domains, we strive to describe how systems interact and how new technologies can produce more sustainable solutions socio-technical challenges.
