Ali T. Al-Awami

Ali T. Al-Awami (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2010. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, and a Research Affiliate with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia. His industrial experiences include working for the Saudi Electricity Company and Bonneville Power Administration. Ali’s research interests span the optimization, operation, and control of multi-vector energy systems (with emphasis on power, hydrogen, and water), grid integration of distributed energy resources, and electrified mobility. Ali is the recipient of several best paper/poster awards from the IEEE PES General Meeting in 2009, the IEEE Clemson University Power Systems Conference in 2016, and the Saudi Smart Grid Conferences in 2013, 2018, and 2022. He is a Topic Lead of the IEEE Task Force for Water-Power Systems.
