Arwa Alsaati is a Research Specialist at the Centre for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Effat University – Jeddah, and concentrated in Digital Systems. Her undergraduate project was in collaboration with the Nanofabrication Lab at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where she worked on building a Smart Water Bottle Monitor. She interned at CCES previously, and worked on creating an Energy Consumption Visualization for Districts in Riyadh using D3 and MapBox libraries. Her second internship was at the Photonics Lab at KAUST University, where she worked on building an RGB LED Driver for Energy Efficient Lighting Using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), and did some research on RGB Lasers and future Li-Fi technology. Her research interests are in the fields of Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality, Visualization and Computer Animation, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Technology. She also has some background in computer animation and post production.
