Elaf Almahmoud is a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at KACST and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Elaf holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Saud University (KSU). Prior to joining the center, Elaf worked as an AI developer and researcher at Tahakom where she built and improved Machine Learning models for automatic traffic violation detection using Computer Vision. As well as, speech recognition model using a self-learning approach. At CCES, Elaf is working on Deep Telemetry, specifically, she is focusing on building a Deep Learning Framework to Detect and Evaluate the Capacity of solar farms across geographies from Satellite Imagery using a state-of-the-art semantic segmentation convolutional neural network-based pipeline. Her research interests are in the fields of machine learning and explainable AI.
