Fahad Alhasoun was a PhD candidate in Computational Science & Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a researcher at the Human Mobility and Networks Lab at MIT (HumNet) as well as a the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at KACST and MIT as part of the City Dynamics project. He was the valedictorian of bachelor degree graduates in Computer Science from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. After graduating from KFUPM, Fahad worked as a network operations engineer at the Integrated Telecom Company. Fahad’s recent work includes investigating approaches to understand behavioral patterns within social networks and transportation infrastructures from mobile phone data traces. During his undergraduate studies at KFUPM, he worked on an implementation of Fingerprint Image Compression Using WSQ Algorithm IAFIS-IC-0110(V3). He also worked on reducing the complexity of the Baby-Step Giant-Step Algorithm searching for a solution to the discrete log problem. Fahad’s work has been published in peer reviewed conferences and journals both locally and internationally.
