Ibtihal Alshehri is currently a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at KACST and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She received her bachelor degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in December 2016. During her studies, Ibtihal worked on multidisciplinary engineering projects of which require data collection, data processing and intensive analysis that enriched her research and laboratory skills. Her undergraduate project was to design and build a radio telescope that captures pure electromagnetic waves from celestial objects and observe their behavior under extreme weather conditions. In 2016, Ibtihal worked as a lab assistant at the university of Colorado at Boulder. Currently, at CCES, Ibtihal is working on studying the urban environmental impact of the changing climate in Saudi and forecasting extreme weather events.
Ibtihal received her Master of Development Engineering degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023.
